Code of Conduct

  1. The Forum is a public, non-violent and non-partisan platform for all who oppose the intolerable status quo in Juba, South Sudan.

 

  1. The Forum’s discussions shall be guided by a team of moderators who will ensure the discussions are civil. There will be zero tolerance for racism, misogyny, homophobia political tribalism, classicism and any other bigoted views. The moderators will immediately delete such comments and any repeat violators will be removed from the forum,

 

  1. Every member is required to provide their email address to receive confirmation of registration. We advise to include a photo and/or name to your account,

 

  1. No member shall have more than one account,

 

  1. English, shall be the main medium of communication, but to be inclusive and encourage diverse thinking, members can contribute in Arabic, Kiswahili and South Sudanese vernacular as long as a simple English translation is provided,

 

  1. Any member is allowed to introduce articles for debate on any issue related to “raising our people up” and out of the abyss. These articles will be edited and approved by the moderators. The Forum reserves the right to choose which articles will make it to the website.

 

  1. The Forum will not be responsible for views/opinions expressed or posted by a member,

 

  1. All members must avoid the following:

 

  • Indecent language or insults,

 

  • Character assassination,

 

  • Derogatory references including racial, tribal or sexist slurs and sentiments,

 

  • Bullying and/or Trolling,

 

  • Recruitment for politics,

 

  • Posting of spam which includes news articles and pictures without context. The Forum is strictly for ideas and not a news outlet,

 

  • Posting and discussing classified correspondences of the Forum is not allowed unless with permission,

 

  • Plagiarism.

 

  • Posting of graphic and unethical images including the dead, nude and pornographic materials,

 

  1. Violation of any of the sections in rule number Eight (8), is deemed sufficient cause for disciplinary actions and this shall be implemented by the moderators. If grave violations continue, moderators shall suspend the member’s account. Disciplinary steps will include,

 

  • 72 hour suspension,

 

  • 7 day suspension,

 

  • 30 day suspension

 

  • Termination of membership

 

 

  1. Pardons for any wrong doing shall be granted through the following manners,

 

  • Apology to targeted individual/group and to all members of the Forum for misuse of the space,

 

  • Remorse in written form where deemed necessary by the moderators.

 

  1. The rules and regulations of this Forum are subject to change by the Moderators.

 

All members are encouraged to participate and own the Forum.
