Achievements

1.  Tomato Powder
NCSS has devised technique for drying fruits and vegetables. With poor road network in the country, vegetables are wasted before reaching the market. To reduce the post harvest losses, the NCSS drying technique provides easiness in storage and transport, and ensures vegetable products availability around the year. Tomato powder is one of successful products in this technique.

2.  Fava Beans

The NCSS successfully conducted agribusiness experiment with Fava Beans- Fuul Misir in south Sudanese vernacular. The experiment was carried out in East African Region, which shares the same climatic zone as South Sudan. With this experiment, NCSS has debunked the historical myth paddled by waves of oppressors that this important cash crop cannot grow in our climatic zone.

3. Farm Tools Donation

For the start, the NCSS has purchased farming tools and materials for gardening project in the Protection of civilians centers (POCs) around Juba. The intention of this project is to help the IDPs grow their own food and be self-reliant
