Deanship of Refugee Affairs - Kosti
Al-Radis 2 refugee camp
Date: 9/18/2021 AD

Mr./ Director of the Western Sector in the Camps;  esteemed Peace, mercy and blessings of God Almighty,

Subject: Response of the community of Al-Radis 2 camp, refusing the visit of the delegation coming from the office of the First Vice President of the Republic of South Sudan.

Based on the above topic, we the refugee community in Sudan. We have been suffering since the outbreak of the civil war in South Sudan 2013. That is why we do not want to involve the refugee problems in the political conflicts in South Sudan. Therefore, we, the refugee community in Al-Radis 2 camp, absolutely refuse to meet the alleged delegation coming from Juba for the following reasons:

- Since we came to the camps, especially Al-Radis 2, we have not heard or seen a government official coming from Juba to inspect the conditions of the refugees.

The asylum community has no direct relationship with their state, but is governed by the asylum law.

- The subject of the visit (peaceful coexistence) is not appropriate because coexistence does not take place outside the borders of a state.

- We in the al-Lago communities in Sudan live in harmony and peace

For peaceful coexistence, the visit can not come from one party

- There were previous visits made in some camps by delegations coming from Juba, which led to the outbreak of severe internal conflicts within the camps during which innocent lives were lost.

This refusal came after consulting with all branches of the communities in the camps and the community committee - senior dignitaries - men - women - youth - intellectuals people in the camp.

Thank you.

Al-Radis camp community committee
