CODE OF CONDUCT.

  Founding Members.

The founding members of this WhatsApp Group are listed below. They are initially the administrator of the forum with regards to the direction of the group (we are consulting with some more ladies as a matter of principle):

     Introduction.

This WhatsApp group is a public platform whose members subscribe to the principle of non-violence. It is also a non-partisan platform for all who want socioeconomic change, and not regime change. The Objective of the WhatsApp group is to become the catalyst for a cultural renaissance in our land; and the restoration of the greatness of our peoples.

The discussions shall focus mainly on finding solutions to the problems facing us as a society. The South Sudanese social media has many groups and many of us are in them. This group wishes to distinguish itself from many of these exclusive, some of them pseudo-elitist groups. It is our contention that intellectual is not who you are, it is what you do. As intellectuals , we do not fear ideas so we are not threatened by inclusivity in our group. This stems from our conviction that a national entity cannot be exclusive. The solutions to our problems must come out of an all inclusive process. We shall be guided in our interactions by our shared values as Junubeen (South Sudanese) to ensure decorum in our deliberations. We believe that as adults, we do not need rules. However, in the unlikely event that a member violates our shared cultural values, the following Code of Conduct shall be used to govern the forum:

Rules and Regulations.

1. The Forum is an open membership, this is why we call it “National",
2. The members,by joiningthe forum, agree to adhere to these rules and regulations. An invitation link will be made public to make subscription  easier as all the members will be able to join without delays.
3. It is recommended that every member include a photo and/or name to his/her account (this is optional),
4. No member shall have more than one account,
5. English shall be the main medium of communication but to be inclusive and encourage diverse thinking, members can contribute in Arabic, Kiswahili and South Sudanese vernacular as long as a simple English translation is provided,
6. Any member is allowed to introduce topics for debate on any issue related to raising our people up out of the economic and social abyss.
7. The Forum will not be responsible for views/opinions expressed or posted by a member,
8. All members must avoid the following:
9. Indecent language or personal attacks,
10. Character assassination,
11. Derogatory references including tribal, racial, sexist and homophobic slurs ,
12. Bullying and/or Trolling,
13. Recruitment for politics,
14. Posting of spam which includes news articles and pictures without context; the forum is strictly for ideas and not a news outlet,
15. Posting and discussing classified correspondences,
16. Plagiarism.
17. Posting of graphic and unethical images including the dead, nude and pornographic materials,
18. Violation of any of the sections in rule number Eight (8), is deemed sufficient cause for disciplinary actions and this shall be implemented by suspending the member. If grave violations the member shall be removed.

Disciplinary steps will include,

1. 72 hour suspension,
2. 7 day suspension
3. 30 day suspension,
4. The forum shall have a zero tolerance attitude towards war mongeringand tribalism(hatespeech). Any member promoting war shall be removed immediately. The forum is for dialogue and not to promote wars for other people's children to fight.
5. The image for the forum shall be the images from the archives of the Tomato Revolution.
6. The rules and regulations of this Forum are subject to change by the members through recommendations and consensus in the forum.

All members are encouraged to participate and own the forum.
